Who’s Stupid?

Nancy Pelosi, in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle:
“Unfortunately, I think people thought they were making a statement about what their view of same-sex marriage was,” the San Francisco Democrat said. “I don’t know if it was clear that this meant that we are amending the Constitution to diminish freedom in our state.”

Translation: Anyone who disagrees with Nancy Pelosi is just too stupid to know what they are voting for.
The reality is that the voters understood the consequences of gay “marriage”, which include the diminishing of freedom of speech, freedom of exercise of religion, parental rights, and the right of children to their natural mother and father. A vote for Proposition 8 didn’t diminish any pre-existing rights. The reality is that the California Supreme Court tried to do an end run around the voters and they miscalculated. Badly.
The voters that didn’t understand what Proposition 8 meant were in all likelihood Spanish speakers who were targeted by No on 8 campaign radio ads that told them that a “No” vote meant a ban on gay marriage. In other words, they were lied to.
